⛳ Course Improvement & Safety Proposal – Member Submission
The Golf Committee recently received a detailed submission from a member outlining a series of proposed course changes to improve player safety, course flow, and overall presentation.
The proposal highlights several key concerns, particularly around player safety on overlapping fairways, with multiple near-miss incidents identified—most notably around the current 7th hole, where several playing corridors intersect.
Key recommendations from the submission include:
- Reconfiguring hole layouts and tee positions to reduce crossing play and minimise risk
- Installing a warning bell on blind tee shots to improve communication between groups
- Adjusting fairway grass lengths in key areas to slow ball roll into high-risk zones
- Minor changes to hole structure (including some par adjustments) to improve the speed of play
- Better utilisation of existing tee infrastructure to enhance presentation and reduce maintenance load
The proposal also emphasises improving first impressions for visitors, particularly around the 1st green precinct, while ensuring changes remain practical and cost-effective for the Club.
The Committee thanks the member for their thoughtful and well-considered submission, which is currently under review.
