Important Note to all golfers – Course Etiquette and Pace of Play – One Golf

As we have enjoyed great weather for golf over a number of weeks now our fields have been increasing sometimes to a point where we get back logs primarily around the 10th tee. This can be frustrating and has been the subject of discussion at recent committee meetings with a number of ideas being floated. One area that keeps coming up is the use (or not) of our online booking system – One Golf. If all groups can endeavour to use the system to book in prior to turning up for your round that will help to identify where else we need to shape things to sort this problem – such as extend the time between tee offs or to blank an identified time slot out to help with pace of play. If you are having trouble with the system please contact a committee member for a tutorial.

The other area we can all assist in this matter is when a group behind is obviously playing faster and waiting behind to either pick up the pace of play or allow the following group to Play Through. People already on the 10th tee have right of way over people on the 1st. If allowing a group to play through it is often best if both groups tee off together which allows for less wait time. Thank you all for your understanding as it is a matter of courtesy and clubmanship and will go a long way to improve the enjoyment on the course.

The Golf Committee is seeking assistance from members who can volunteer a small amount of their time to help around the course and support the ongoing presentation of our facilities.

There are a number of tasks where additional help would make a significant difference, including ball collection on the driving range, rough maintenance, course clean-up, gardening, minor repairs, and general course presentation. No special skills are required, and members can contribute as much or as little time as they are able.

If you would like to lend a hand or simply learn more about how you can assist, please speak with a member of the Golf Committee or contact the Club. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
